All schools have completed their school lockdown drills and will be returning to their regular class schedules. Parents and guardians, please take a moment this evening to talk with your children about the lockdown experience. Ask questions about the process, such as “What do you do first?” and praise your children for listening to the teacher and doing the things that they have been taught to do during a drill. You may want to explain that safety is something that we must practice, just like we practice reading or math. And, the more we practice, the better and more confident we become. We want safety drills to be a confidence-building experience, not a scary experience. Thank you for entrusting us with the education and safety of your children, and thank you to the Upson County Sheriff's Office for their assistance today! #weareUL

Mrs. Norris had some revolutionary visitors today in her AP US History courses!
In this interactive research project, students will dive deep into the life and contributions of a prominent figure from the American Revolutionary period. Each student will choose a revolutionary figure, research their background, role in the revolution, key contributions, and their impact on the founding of the United States.
Once the research is complete, students will assume the persona of their chosen figure and participate in a historical "Meet & Greet" event with their classmates. During this session, students will present their findings through a combination of role-playing, informal discussions, and brief speeches, interacting with their peers as if they were the historical figures they’ve researched.
We love the effort students put into this assignment as they took a trip back to the birth of our country!
