Parking for the 2025-2026 School Year Information is Now Available! Do not wait on this. Due to construction on the field house, parking is limited!
Beginning Monday July 28th, Seniors will be able to purchase parking spaces from 10am to 3pm in the front office. All students can purchase parking from Tuesday July 29th thru Thursday July 31st between 10am to 3pm
Parking passes are $40.00 and can be paid on Cheddar Up where you will also be able to print out the forms for obtaining a parking space. Here is the link to pay and to get the form. You can also get the link from the ULHS webpage.

Parking forms must be signed by the parent/guardian and the student. As a reminder, students are not allowed to drive to campus without purchasing a parking pass.
Another Important Reminder: Student release forms must be signed by a parent/guardian every year in person. What is a student release form? This is so your student has permission to leave campus during the school year (illness for example) without a parent having to drive to the school and sign them out. Students, it is a good plan to bring your parent/guardian with you when purchasing your parking pass so that the student release form can be completed as well.

Please remember that we have a new door security system in place this year for everyone’s safety. To avoid delays or setting off the alarm, we kindly ask that you leave unnecessary metal objects at home. Some suggestions on what not to bring are in the image below.

Upson–Lee NJROTC Summer Orientation Camp 2025:
Upson-Lee High School NJROTC program will be hosting its annual Freshman Orientation Camp on July 14th – July 17th, 2025. The camp will be held at the Upson-Lee High School NJROTC spaces and will run from 8:00 a.m. until Noon. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Although not mandatory, the camp will give students an early introduction to the NJROTC program, good citizenship practices, and the importance of physical fitness. Participants should have expressed interest in the NJROTC program while in 8th grade and requested the class with their guidance counselor. Upson-Lee NJROTC Announces Leadership Academy Graduates 2025
On June 8th – 15th, Upson-Lee NJROTC cadets participated at the NJROTC Area’s 8,9, and 10 – sponsored Leadership Academy. The training was held on the campus of the historic Riverside Preparatory Academy in Gainesville, Georgia.
Upson-Lee NJROTC cadets received more than 60 training hours with topics including psychology of leadership, military drill, being physically fit, the importance of STEM, and much more. The young Knights trained alongside nearly 300 fellow NJROTC cadets who represented newly configured Area’s 8, 9, and 10 high schools in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Virginia.
Upson-Lee’s Company Commanding Officer Cadet Lieutenant Commander Keelyn Quiller returned to Leadership Academy for a second year as a Cadre (specialty trainer) to a designated platoon. The cadets were accompanied by Naval Science Instructor Chief Petty Officer Anthony Kendall, who assisted in the training as a Platoon Advisor. This valued training can be seen as an investment in the schools NJROTC program and will aid tremendously in continued productivity and professionalism.

It may be summer, but work continues throughout the T-U School District! This week, district and school leaders met for the annual District Leadership Retreat, held at Upson-Lee Middle School. School personnel reviewed and revised their continuous improvement plans, aligned expectations and goals, and focused on key performance measurements. The annual district retreat is an opportunity to review, reflect, and reimagine teaching and learning initiatives while strengthening the leadership's commitment to success!

Upson-Lee High School Celebrates Georgia Milestones Success with Student Giveaways
Upson-Lee High School is proud to recognize the hard work and achievement of our students on the Georgia Milestones assessments. To celebrate their efforts and encourage continued academic growth, the school recently held a drawing for two iPads, open to all students who scored Proficient or Distinguished in both semesters of testing.
In addition, Brightmoor Hospice generously donated gift cards to be included in a second drawing. This drawing was open to all students who scored Developing, Proficient, or Distinguished on the Georgia Milestones, ensuring that a wide range of student accomplishments were acknowledged and celebrated.
We are grateful to Brightmoor Hospice for their continued support of our students and community. Congratulations to all of our winners!

In Loving Memory of Aisha Quinn Our Upson-Lee High School family is deeply saddened by the passing of one of our own, Aisha Quinn.
Aisha’s joyful spirit, kindness, intelligence, and vibrant energy touched the lives of many. She will be deeply missed by her friends, teachers, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.
A celebration of Aisha’s life will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, 11:00 AM in Elizabeth's Chapel of Alfonso Dawson Mortuary, 3000 M.L. King Jr Dr SW, Atlanta, GA 30311.

Congratulations to Marze’vionn Dixon! He participated in the High School High Tech computer competition and won a new laptop. Students had to complete an essay or PowerPoint project describing how they will use a laptop to transition from high school to either work or post-secondary education. Way to go!
New Security System Implementation Begins Tomorrow
Starting tomorrow, our school will implement a new weapons detection system. All students and visitors will be required to walk through this system upon entering the building. To help keep arrival smooth and efficient, we ask that students:
• Wear their backpacks on their backs
• Have binders in their hands to give to school personnel
Bus riders and car riders will receive guidance from bus drivers and school personnel when they arrive.
Through testing, we’ve learned that certain items can trigger the system, including:
• Metal eyeglass cases
• Metal pencil boxes
• Flashlights
• Umbrellas
• Binders
These items do not need to be left at home — students are welcome to bring and use them. However, to ease the screening process, students should hold these items in their hands and be ready to hand them to a staff member before passing through the detector.
We understand this is a change and may create minor inconveniences. We appreciate your patience and support as we take steps to ensure a safer school environment for everyone. Thank you for your cooperation and positivity!
