Yesterday at Landmark Christian School, The Upson Lee Knights performed at a high level despite the cold weather.
The Lady Knights did an awesome job placing second in the meet. Tykendra Daniel won the 100-meter dash followed by Taniya Kendrick in second and Laila Foster in third. In the 200-meter dash Kinsley Woodard placed second and Taniya Kendrick placed third. In the 400-meter dash Tykendra Daniel won first place, followed by Laila Foster second and Jabria Riddle third. In the Mile run Jayme Carroll placed fourth with a new PR of 5:31. Lakyzhia Miller placed second in the 300 Hurdles. Kinsley Woodard won the High Jump. Discus was led by Nyasia Mims earning a second place for the Knights with Jamayah Carthon placing third. Jamayah Carthon also placed third in shot put. The Relays were dominated by the Lady Knights. 400 Meter relay was won by Laila Foster, Tykendra Daniel, Kinsley Woodard and Taniya Kendricks and the 1600 Meter Relay was won by Jabria Riddle, Laila Foster, Shatavia King and Tykendra Daniel.
The Knights of Armor performed in an outstanding manner taking first place in the meet. The 100-meter dash was won by Jayden Skelton followed by Keyuntae Colbert with second place and Bentavious Reviere with third place. The 200-meter dash was won by Keyuntae Colbert followed by Jordan Little in second. In the 400-meter dash, Marzaih Myles placed third and in the 800-meter dash Jerdarrius Meadows earned second place. In the mile run, Bryson Allen placed second and in the 300 Hurdles, Marzaih Myles won first place, and Jordan Little came in third. High Jump was very competitive, Zae Barkley earned in second place while Ken Myles placed third. Discuss, shot put and relays were dominated by the Knights. In discus Kvon McCoy was first place with a new PR and Dh'King Brown came in second place. In shot put Adonis Brazil earned first place and JaQuan Bentley second. The 400 Meter relay was won by Bentavious Reviere, Jayden Skelton, Keyuntae Colbert and Akeondre Chaney and the 1600-meter relay was also won by Jordan Little, Ke'Montez Foster, Patrick Weaver and Marzaih Myles.
Coach Johnson wants to not only congratulate his team for their performance but also give huge thank you to his coaches for their hard work and help in assisting the Knights in reaching new heights. Thank you, Coach Foster, Coach Daniely, Coach Walker and Coach O. Johnson.
Their next track meet will be in Barnesville @ Lamar County High School on Tuesday March 5th.
