Wayne Puckett- Assistant Principal of CTAE

Wayne Puckett has been employed with the Thomaston-Upson School System for 27 years.  He began his career teaching Health/Physical Education at the Middle School. At Upson-Lee High School he taught Health/Physical Education, Drivers Education, Intro to Business, and facilitated Credit Recovery.  He has coached football, basketball, and baseball during his career.  He was named Athletic Director of Upson-Lee High School in 2019..  He is serving his first year as CTAE Director and Assistant Principal.

Mr. Puckett graduated from Fitzgerald High School. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education at the University of West Georgia, where he also played baseball.  He received a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Troy University.  He is married to Karen English Puckett, Thomaston-Upson School Nutrition Director.  They have three sons Derek Baughcum, Kalen Puckett, and Brady Puckett.
